Why is Avaz joining PRC-Saltillo?
Together, we’re combining strengths: PRC-Saltillo’s legacy in communication and language development with Avaz’s innovation and multilingual expertise to make AAC access stronger and more inclusive around the world.
Who is PRC-Saltillo?
Founded in 1966, PRC-Saltillo is a pioneer and global leader in providing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technology to individuals with complex communication disorders. PRC-Saltillo offers a full range of speech-generating devices, industry-favorite AAC apps (LAMP Words for Life, TouchChat, Unity, and Dialogue), and research-based vocabulary systems along with unmatched support and training. PRC-Saltillo is a 100% employee-owned company and headquartered in Wooster, Ohio with subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, Singapore, and India.
What does this mean for Avaz users?
Avaz is now part of the PRC-Saltillo family, a pioneer and global leader in AAC technology. Together, PRC-Saltillo’s clinical expertise and Avaz’s innovation and multilingual experience will help us learn from one another, collaborate, and create even better tools and experiences for AAC users everywhere.
Everything you rely on stays the same – your Avaz app, your access through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and your existing licenses all remain active. You’ll continue to use Avaz just as before, with the same team and support you already trust.
Availability & Access
Will the Avaz app still be available?
Yes! The Avaz app continues to be available on iOS and Android worldwide. You can download or update it from the AppStore or Google Play.
Will I lose access to my Avaz app or data?
No. Your app, customizations, and subscriptions remain intact. You’ll continue to receive updates and support exactly as before.
Will Avaz be available on PRC-Saltillo’s devices (like Via or NovaChat)?
In some regions, certifications determine app availability. For instance, in the US and EU, Avaz is not available on medical devices like Via or NovaChat. In other regions, please check with your local representative for updates.
Pricing & Purchases
Will pricing or subscription terms change?
No. Pricing and subscription plans remain unchanged for now. Any future updates will be communicated well in advance.
Will Avaz still be covered under my insurance plan?
Yes. If you currently receive Avaz through your AAC funding provider or approved distributor, your arrangements will continue as before.
Will Avaz Lifetime or institutional licenses still be valid?
Absolutely. Existing licenses, subscriptions, and MDM setups remain valid. If administrative updates are ever required, Avaz will guide you through a seamless process.
Support & Service
Will the Avaz support team change?
No. You’ll continue to work with the same Avaz team, the same people, channels, and care you already know and trust.
Who should I contact for help now?
For Avaz support: support@avazapp.com
For PRC-Saltillo apps: use the existing support channels for LAMP Words for Life, TouchChat, Unity AAC, or Dialogue AAC.
How will this partnership strengthen user support?
While your day-to-day support stays exactly the same, both teams now share knowledge and training resources to keep improving how we serve AAC users worldwide. Think of it as the same care, now backed by a wider pool of expertise.
For Professionals
(India) I’m enrolled in Avaz’s certification or training. Will this continue?
Yes. All ongoing and upcoming training programs, workshops, and certifications will continue uninterrupted. Certificates already issued remain valid.
Will the bilingual and multilingual features continue?

For Families
Will my child’s app or device continue to work?
Yes. Nothing changes for your child’s AAC app or device. Updates and support will continue without any disruption.
(India) Will the people who work with my child change?
No. Your therapists and support contacts remain the same. You’ll continue seeing the same familiar faces and names.
Will this partnership bring anything new for families?
Yes. Over time, families will benefit from enhanced features, research-backed updates, and more learning resources, all while keeping Avaz’s family-first approach intact.
For Institutions, Schools & Resellers
Do we need to renew our existing licenses?
No immediate changes. All existing licenses remain valid. You’ll continue to use Avaz as before.
What happens to our Data Privacy Agreement (DPAs)?
Since there’s been a change in control, we’ll be reviewing existing DPAs with each institution. Our team will get in touch with you directly to discuss and make any necessary updates or changes. If you have any questions in the meantime, please reach out to lgbala@avazapp.com
Will we see new AAC tools in our ecosystem?
Avaz will continue to focus on serving its community and expanding access to AAC. As part of a larger portfolio of apps, we’ll be collaborating closely with PRC-Saltillo to learn from each other’s strengths, design, clinical expertise, and user insights, so we can collectively offer more choices and possibilities for the AAC community over time.
